Your best bet is to mow a neighbor's lawn, babysit, dogsit, or perhaps clean a neighbor's house. That's what I had to do until I was 16 and could get a job. I actually made decent money doing that.
Answer 2 :
You might check out the local newspaper delivery routes, or like the other person said, have to offer to do odd jobs for neighbors. To help with the odd jobs, maybe make some fliers that you can put in people's front door handles or go door to door. I am pretty sure that otherwise, it may be national law anymore that you have to be like 15 or 16. Most jobs it's more like 16 or 18. Good luck.
Answer 3 :
You might see if the University has openings--I stocked books at the library there underage. Good luck.
Answer 4 :
There are virtually no jobs out there for your age group because of child labor laws. http://www.labor.ky.gov/ows/employmentstandards/childlaborlaw/ Some employers are even backing off hiring until 17, 18 nowadays so they'll have more shift options for working their employees. If you are looking for money, try marketing yourself as a babysitter for your neighborhood. Either American Heart Association or Red Cross offers a first aid course for babysitters (can't remember which). Get certified, then advertise yourself in your neighborhood newsletter. You can also try LFUCG Parks & Recreation for pool jobs. Had a friend who worked the concession stand at Southland Pool the summer she was 15. Mow lawns. This is what my brother did. Be professional and you could end up with enough repeat customers for several summers. If you aren't looking for money, but just want something to stay busy this summer, you might want to contact local hospitals about serving as a teen volunteer for the summer. I know UK Hospital has them. They do things like deliver patient mail/flowers, run errands for staff, etc. Looks good on a college application. Also gets your foot in the door if you are thinking about a career in health care.
